Citrus Reticulata/Nobilis/Delicosa—expressed from the outer peel. The terms are used somewhat interchangeably. They are chemo types of the same species and the oils are quite different. MANDARIN is considered sweeter and almost floral. Is one of the gentlest citrus oils. TANGERINE is considered more fresh, orange-like, but with less “body” than MANDARIN, slightly sharper which is preferred in perfumery. The “green” mandarin is fresher and fruitier.
CAUTIONS: Generally considered non-toxic, non-irritant. Possible sensitizer, especially with old oils. Dilute well for topical use. PHOTO TOXIC. Do NOT use on skin exposed to sunlight.
