Savory

Satureja montana, Mountain Savory, also known as Winter Savory is a resilient perennial, native to Europe and North Africa and steam extracted from the flowering herb.   It can reach a height of  12 inches and its grayish green leaves create a bushy exterior. Has a sharp, medicinal, herbaceous odor. Should not be confused with Summer Savory (Satureja hortensis), which has a milder demeanor.   Summer Savory is often compared to thyme and oregano. It is powerful, warming, and protective — but generally considered slightly gentler than Mountain Savory though still strong.

PERSONALITY: (quite rare…)

+Acts quickly and decisively.  Is mentally sharp.

+Direct to the point of discomfort. Intolerant of deception.

+Hyper-aware of weakness.

+Fiercely loyal once trust is earned. Not interested in approval.

+Has strong personal boundaries. Protective of territory, secures the perimeter first.

+Protects what matters.

+Thrives in challenging situations and environments where strength is required. Adapts to difficult circumstances.

+Does not soothe your feelings. Protects your life force. They are the ones you want around in a survival situation.

- If negative, has a need for control and a big ego. May be overaggressive, dominating and too sharp in communication.

Mountain Savory is not gentle.

It is not diplomatic.

It is not ornamental.
