Ginger Lily


 Hedychium  coronarium/spicatum- often known as Kapoor Kachari, steam distilled from the root/rhizones or solvent extracted from the flowers of a wild ginger relative growing in the Himalayan foothills. There are distinct differences in aroma between the two.   The extract is expensive, the distilled oil not so much.  Also called Butterfly Ginger, Hydicum or White Ginger Lily. The extract is diffusive, warm, woody, with slight spicy and melon-like top notes that fade to a unique cool, creamy, floral-woody drydown.  It is sometimes co-distilled with Vetiver Root. 

Generally considered non-toxic, non-sensitizing, non-irritating in low doses.  Dilute well for topical use.
