Tea Tree (Melaleuca)



Melaleuca alternifolia-- distilled from the leaves and twigs. There are several essential oils produced from the melaleuca species including Cajeput and Niaouli.   New Zealand tea tree, (Manuka) is a new oil being introduced. There is also a LEMON TEA TREE. It has a history of use with the Maori people who used it for curing many illnesses. KANUKA,  a chemotype of New Zealand Tea Tree also has a rich medicinal history.

CAUTIONS: Possible skin irritation; could be sensitizing at levels above 1%.  Better suited for diffusing or inhalation.
