Jasmine

Jasminum officianale-produces either a concrete or absolute from the blossoms.  An essential oil may then be produced by distilling the absolute.  The fragrance is intensely rich, warm floral.  It has the ability to round off notes and blend with virtually everything. There are at least three types of jasmine used in aromatherapy--sambac, grandiflorium and auriculatus. (which is purported to smell somewhat like gardenia).

 

Generally considered non-toxic, moderate skin-sensitizing, non-irritating in low doses.  Dilute well to under 1% for topical use.
