Sandalwood

SSantalum album-distilled from the roots and heartwood.  Deep, sweet woody, balsamic velvety scent.  Such a versatile oil…becoming more rare and expensive. There are several variations and alternatives, including Australian Sandalwood (Santalum spicatum), African Sandalwood (Muhuhu) and Hawaiian Sandalwood (Santalum paniculatem). Indian sandalwood has a strong, warm, buttery fragrance. Pacific sandalwood oil’s scent is similar but not as strong. Australian sandalwood oil has a more “woodsy” fragrance.

  

Generally considered non-toxic, non-sensitizing, non-irritating in low doses.  Dilute well for topical use.
