Melissa

Melissa officianalis-extracted by distillation of the leaves and flowering tops. The fragrance is fresh, herbaceous, lemony, strong citrus.   Native to the Mediterranean region.  Now common almost everywhere.  Grows like a mint, spreads profusely. The oil is rare & expensive because 7 ½ tons of plant material is needed for 1 pound of oil.

 

CAUTIONS: Generally considered non-toxic, non-irritating. No testing for sensitization. Dilute well for topical use.
