Thyme

thymus vulgaris sp linalol-hymus vulgaris sp linalol-distilled from the leaves and flowering tops.  This is one of the milder THYME types without the heavy concentration of thymol, carvacol. There are nearly a hundred varieties of Thyme(or more).  You may grow some in your garden.  Creeping Thyme, Mother of Thyme, Woolly Thyme, Silver Thyme, Lemon Thyme etc.  Although each are not usually distilled for oil, they could be.  Thus, Thyme has many chemotypes and possible variations in personality.  There is also RED THYME (thymus Serpyllum) known as "The Sergeant", Hard Core Wake Up Call. CAUTIONS:  Highly irritant, especially the Carvacol types, usually non-sensitizing. Avoid with pregnancy and high blood pressure.  Best suited for diffusing and inhalation.
