Helichrysum

Helichrysum italicum/angustifolium-distilled from the fresh flowers and flowering tops.  Has a rich, powerful honey-like scent, tea-like,  warm,  rich and buttery, with green notes of wood and tea-like undertones. It is a fascinating oil because it is made up of several layers of notes that appear to unfold during the dry down.

Also called IMMORTELLE or EVERLASTING. There are many "Helichrysums" out there, including Gymno, Balkan and Cape. But the one offering the most dramatic healing benefits is (Italian Everlasting, Immortelle),  Italicum ssp Serotinum,   

 Used as a fragrance fixative, but at the present time, is one of the rarest, expensive and most sought after oils.  World production cannot keep up with demand as more uses are found. I save it for special blends and extreme first aid use. 

Generally considered non-toxic, non-sensitizing, non-irritating in low doses.  Dilute well for topical use.  Useful and active at low doses. Can be used Neat for extreme first aid for bruises.
