Cedrus Atlantica-Cedrus Atlantica-distilled from the wood, stumps, and sawdust. Fragrance is warm, camphor top note with sweet, tenacious, woody-balsamic undertone. The oil is quite different from Texas (Juniperus ashei) or Virginia (Juniperus virginiana) Cedarwood, which are members of the Juniper family. Used as a fragrance component and fixative in cosmetics, soaps, etc, as well as colognes. There is also a Himalayan Cedar (cedrus deodora). It also should not be confused with Thuja occidentalis which is known as White Cedar or Thuja cedar leaf oil. Or Western Red Cedar (thuja plicata).
Generally considered non-toxic, non-sensitizing, non-irritating in low doses. Dilute well for topical use. (2-3%) Diffuse, Steam inhalation, add to cleaning products.
